I guess I'll go with the former... there are so many things to say I don't know which to pick... I've been busy with working, preparing for VBS, searching for college scholarships, and beginning to prepare my college application. All of which require large quantities of my time. What's new? Well, I guess, instead of continueing down this trail I shall tell you of the bankruptcy that went wrong:
Afternoon, Friday, April, 21: running around like a chick w/ my head chopped off to file an Emergency petition for a bankruptcy (BY). The ppl were going to get their gas turned off on Mon. if I didn't (1) file the BY and (2) fax the BY info the the gas company. I called the court to figure out what all I had to file. Finally got it filed right around 5 and ran out the office...
Weekend: the awful realization came upon me, I FORGOT TO FAX THE GAS COMPANY!!! Millions of thoughts running through my mind. One of which was the curious question of what the attorney would say if his clients gas got turned off... So I vowed to fax a letter to the gas company first thing Mon. morning. Which I did and their gas was not turned off.
Friday, April 28: Due today is the Certificate of Debtor Counseling and the Creditor Address Matrix... & once again I have problems. First of all, BY clients usually aren't all that responsible and these ones hadn't gotten me the BY Certificate yet. Second, they gave me their credit report but some of the entries only didn't have the address of the Creditor, some didn't even have a name!!! I called the client and their Counseling was scheduled for Wednesday... DARN IT!!!
The attorney was busy so I had to do everything on my own. I called the court for help. That's a joke! They were like "the attorney should know what to do, ask him." Finally I found out that I needed to file a Motion for Extension... Whatever in the heck that is. I searched the comp. for forms but found nothing. I didn't even know what to ask them to extend!! Finally around 5 the attorny got out of his settlement and said we could just file it Mon - the BY court isn't very timely and prob. wouldn't throw out the case out before Mon.
Monday, May 1: NOTHING!!!
Tuesday I get an email from the attorney: "Do you want to try your hand at drawing up a motion? We just need time to complete it. We probably should put in the motion who the counseling is with. Please say yes, since I just don’t have the time today!!!!" I'm like, uh, sure I'll try & email you my draft. "GGGRRREAT!! Thanks a lot." So, I made something up.... He said it was fine & I filed it... Haha, this is a rather laid back attorney & his stuff doens't have to be all that polished...
Wednesday, May 3: Um, the judge I put on the Order retired... & I forgot to do the electronic signature for the attorney... Luckily the attorney only knew of the former and that wasn't really my fault because he reviewed it.... So I fixed all that & finally filed it...
I still have to get the addresses for all of the Creditors, & basically figure out the rest of the case (without much help from the rather busy attorney...). Hopefully the case goes smoother now though!!
I pray that you have all been adequately entertained!!
